JEEVIKA NUKAD NATAK
The Jeevika Nukkad Natak scripted on the Jeevika theme of Livelihood Campaign of Centre for Civil Society (CCS) presents an evoking mix of songs and scenes to raise awareness about the plight of the domestic workers.

Being performed by students from various colleges of Delhi to be part of the Jeevika Street Play Troupe directed by ASMITA’s Resident Director Mr. Arvind Gaur, the play depicts as to how the domestic workers have been completely evaded from the purview of any laws governing wages or labor.

They rather form a class of completely unrecognized workforce so far as the ambit of Regulating or Welfare Legislations is concerned. It also highlights the sensitive issues of child labor and sexual abuse of domestic workers. A thought provoking insight into the overworked and underpaid life of the domestic workers, the play also draws attention to the further insensitivity and harassment that the domestic workers face from the side of State and State agencies such as the Police.
