2nd phase of documentation of street markets in Jaipur…

  1. Annual report on Jeevika Campaign ready to be send to the donor.
  2. Facilitated Dharnas and Rallies by street vendors against encroachment on Municipal corporation land by rich middlemen in Jaipur.
  3. Submitted a fresh memorandum to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan
  4. Research Interns and trainees to work in campaign in Jaipur.
  5. Selected one street market to work and get regularized. Second meeting for market authorization successfully done.
  6. Second phase of documentation of street markets in Jaipur has started covering 10 more markets.
  7. Stopped the revival of contract system for collecting revenue from street vendors.
  8. Conference on Urban Poverty in Muzaffarpur on May Day.
  9. Amit met the Urban Development Minister, Bihar on May 11 regarding the policy implementation
  10. Gave a presentation on national policy at Deputy Secretary, Urban Development Ministry and other officers. They are preparing to represent it to CM of Bihar.

Survey of Street vendors to estimate the no. of street vendors…

  1. Parth and Amit visited Patna to see the work and also met Sugandhi from SDTT to resolve some of our concerns.
  2. Survey of Street vendors to estimate the no. of street vendors in Patna.
  3. Submitted a memorandum to Commissioner, Patna division, District magistrate, Municipal commissioner, and Senior Superintendent of police Patna for the regulation of street vendors.
  4. Identify the place for vending zone in 32 wards of Patna.
  5. Made a proposal for develop 14 sites for street vendors and submitted to Patna Municipal Corporation.
  6. A Fax campaign was organised in patna on 20th January to urge with Chief minister to early implementation of National policy.
  7. Filed an intervener Petition in Hon’bel High court, Patna in matter of Encroachment.
  8. Press conference and Rally was taken out in Patna demanding early implementation of the street vending policy.


CCS facilitated Dharnas and Rallies by street vendors…

  1. CCS facilitated Dharnas and Rallies by street vendors against encroachment on Municpal corporation land by rich middlemen.
  2. CCS is facilitating to create a cooperative of fruits and vegetable vendors. In this regard two meetings were organized.
  3. Parth visited potential markets where we are going to help street vendors associations for regularization of the market.
  4. We have submitted a proposal to Jaipur Municipal Corporation to develop model market.
